Xtreme XR7038 Wins LLEAP Award

Las Vegas, NV, USA

Xtreme Manufacturing, LLC won Lift and Access’ Leadership in Lifting Equipment and Aerial Platforms (LLEAP) award for most innovative new product in the “Material handlers” category with its XR7038 telehandler.

The XR7038 is North America’s largest capacity telehandler. Launched at this year’s ConExpo as the XR6538, the telehandler was uprated to lift 70,000 lbs and renamed the XR7038. It was designed by Xtreme’s in-house engineering team to meet the demands of mining, bridge construction, pipe-handling, and other high-capacity rugged applications.

The XR7038 is an alternative to small cranes, weighing in at 115,000 lbs and featuring 6.5 ft tall foam-filled tires and a 24 ft turning radius. It is powered by a Tier 4-Final Cummins 300-hp engine and has a 150 gallon capacity fuel tank to reduce the refueling frequency.

The LLEAP Award judges, said “This is an interesting lift that may replace a crane in some applications and doesn’t need a certified operator. Once again, Xtreme dares to go where no one else has.”

The award ceremony took place during the Lift & Access Showcase 2014 at the Springhill Suites in Las Vegas, NV on October 29, 2014. Mike Larson, Editor of Lift & Access magazine presented the award to Don Ahern, Owner; Lee Kramer, President; and Richard Hoffelmeyer, VP of Engineering from Xtreme Manufacturing.
