Xtreme Manufacturing Takes Mining To The Max At MINExpo 2021

Las Vegas-based Xtreme Manufacturing™ is displaying the Xtreme XR1585-C, one of the world’s tallest fixed boom telehandlers at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2021 that opens today, along with a range of high capacity telehandlers and Snorkel aerial work platforms.

Xtreme’s booth theme is “Mine to the Max” with a range of equipment on display, including six Xtreme telehandlers ranging from A-class to F-class and six Snorkel lifts that include an articulated boom lift, telescopic boom lift, push-around scissor lift, electric scissor lift and the new Snorkel S9043RT rough terrain scissor lift.

Shown to the mining sector for the first time, the new Xtreme XR1585-C telehandler reaches a maximum lift height of 85 ft. (25.9m) and can lift up to 15,000 lbs. (5,443kg). The first Xtreme telehandler to utilize a five-section boom, the Xtreme XR1585-C benefits from a 67 ft. (20.4m) maximum forward reach and is available with a choice of fixed, fork positioning, swing or side tilt C-class carriages.

Weighing 65,500 lbs. (29,710kg), the Xtreme XR1585-C is powered by a 4.5L Cummins 173hp Tier 4 Final diesel engine for excellent rough terrain capabilities, and features a large capacity 100-gallon (272.5L) fuel tank. Utilizing a newly designed chassis, specific to this model, the XR1585-C is 102 in. (2.6m) wide, has a stowed height of 10 ft. 1 in. (2.7m), and a turning radius of 16 ft. 8 in. (4.8m), and has wide stance outriggers as standard for maximum stability.

With a hydraulic flow of 49 gallons (185.4L) per minute, and a hydraulic pressure of 4,000psi (275.7bar), the XR1585-C can be fitted with a wide range of C-class attachments, including pole grapples, sling mounts, truss booms, buckets, and personnel platforms. For its customers with B-class attachments, Xtreme is offering a version of the XR1585-C with a B-class carriage, known as the XR1285-B, with a reduced 12,000 lbs. maximum capacity.

Attached to the XR1585-C on display during MINExpo® is a newly-designed patent pending operator station designed to make it easier to precisely position loads at extreme heights. A brand-new concept, the operator station is fitted to the rear of the XR1585-C carriage, enabling the operator to travel with the load to height for enhanced positioning control. Using a wireless RF pendant, the operator can control all boom functions from the platform to safely and efficiently place the load at height. The carriage is shown as a concept design, and would be available as an option.

Like all Xtreme telehandlers, the XR1585-C benefits from 360-degree visibility from the cab, a fully-rated boom lift point, and long-life boom rollers for smooth operation. The XR1585-C can be configured with a choice of open cab, enclosed cab, and enclosed cab with heat and AC, as well as various tires, fork tines, and options, including telematics. New standard features on this model include a wireless carriage camera and backup camera with a radar detection system.

Alongside the XR1585-C, Xtreme is showcasing the XR619-A, XR843-B, XR1555-C, XR2045-C and North America’s largest capacity telehandler, the XR7038, capable of lifting up to 70,000 lbs.   Xtreme is sharing its indoor booth in Central Hall with sister company, Snorkel™.  A leading manufacturer of mobile elevating work platforms, Snorkel is highlighting its new high capacity rough terrain scissor lift, the S9043RT, at the show, which delivers a maximum working height of 49 ft. (15.1m) and a lift capacity of 1,500 lbs. (680kg), alongside five other popular scissor and boom models.

The two-story Xtreme Manufacturing booth will be built from Xtreme Cubes™, a modular building structure that can be configured for use in hazardous environments, such as mining to provide office space, employee accommodation, data and telecommunication centers, and other types of structures.

These portable structures are built from steel, utilizing a welded frame with fork pockets that means they can be stacked, transported and easily customized for doors, windows, etc., without affecting the structural integrity, while delivering a high quality working environment.
